Salume Akol’s lone goal was enough to send North Eastern Region representatives, Aterai Primary School to the final of the FUFA Primary Schools Championship (Odilo) 2024.
The 2023 finalists edged Tororo based Prime View Education Centre in a tight semifinal encounter played at the FUFA Technical Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
In the other semifinal, Oasis Primary School from Arua representing West Nile region cruised past Kyegegwa based Source Light Primary School in a 4-0 win thanks to a brace from Happy Jackline plus goals from Hope Christine and Zuhaira Mansur.
Charles Obore the Coach Aterai Primary School thanked his team for the performance and promised a good display during the final.
‘We lost the final during the last edition, this time round we went back to the drawing table and corrected our errors that why we have reached this far and only looking forward to win this edition.” He said.
While his counterpart of Oasis Primary School Mawa Mas Jordan said his team was eliminated at the semifinal stage during the last edition but this time round since they made it to the final for the first time, they are only looking forward to winning the trophy.
‘We have taken part in all the Odilo editions but we have never gone past the semifinal. This means we have gathered alot of experience from participating and it’s time for them this year.” Said Mawa
