A FIFA consultant on installation of pitches with Natural and Artificial grass-Stephen Baker inspected the ongoing works at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
Baker was assigned by FIFA to assess the progress of the project before the installation of the artificial turf.
The work has already covered five stages and Baker’s report will be crucial before the final phase is given the go ahead.

‘He is here to assess the progress of the project from which he will make a report where Edel Grass will base to start installing the artificial turf’ said Ahmed Hussein the project spokesperson.
Hussein added that as soon as the report is finalised, the installation exercise of the artificial turf will immediately get under way.

‘Works would have been completed by last year but the heavy rains around the country interrupted the progress, However we expect this work to be completed as soon as possible’ added Hussein.
Baker was accompanied by the FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, KCCA FC CEO David Tamale and FUFA expert on artificial turf Ivan Kintu Bayige .
