On his first outing on the greens of Namboole stadium,  Melvyn Lorenzen couldn’t hide his excitement at touching the ball for the first time with Uganda Cranes players.
‘Though it was a long journey from Germany to Uganda, it seemed tough for me during the training because it was my first time on a Ugandan pitch but I have liked the training and the boys in general’ said Melvyn.

Melvyn who plays for German side Weder Bremen but with his paper work to secure a Ugandan passport in progress, he has promised to give in his best when he gets the chance to play for Cranes.
‘I want to be a role model for the whole country’

He is looking forward to his first cap against Zimbabwe on Tuesday 31st May 2016 in the international friendly to be played in Harare.
