The climax of the Presidential U16 youth Cup at the Federation Technical Centre in Njeru on Good Friday saw Noordin Bunjo (St. Marys’ Kitende) and Nesta Ahabwe (St. Andrews Rubindi) voted the most valuable players of a five day tournament.
The two equally young but talented players were not a surprise to many spectators given their skillful play.
Bunjo was also the tournament’s top scorer with five goals, a position that earned him an extra UGX 60.000 from the FUFA President Lawrence Mulindwa.
The management of the Nile Resort Hotel in Jinja offered a cash contribution of UGX 200.000 which was equally shared between Bunjo and Ahabwe for their exemplary performance.
The chairman of the organizing committee Eddy Butindo said the young boys had had a lot of training in areas of injury prevention/management and the dangers related to homosexuality among others.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ronald Mugula, a prominent kick boxer, among other hundreds of fans.
