The Uganda Cranes will play Togo this afternoon. But ahed of the fixture, fufa.co.ug brings you some of the quotes from the Cranes camp at Hotel Kasarawa in Lome.
Team captain: Geoffrey Massa :I don’t feel any pressure leading the team as captain. The most important ingredient is team work and winning the game. We know what is at stake for the team. We must go for it. Striker Massa will captain the Cranes in the absence of suspended defender Andy Mwesigwa.
Brian Umony: It’s not all about me scoring. The team matters a lot. I feel feel happy seeing the team winning the game than me scoring but i also want to contribute to the success. Umony is one of the four strikers in Crans camp. Sentamu Yunus, Massa and Serunkuma Daniel are the other strikers in Lome.
Tonny Mawejje: Football in Africa has changed a lot in this campaign. So many teams have picked good results away from home unlike in the past. it is possible we can pick a good result today. Midfiedler Mawejje has played in all the three group E matches for Cranes scoring a goal against Ghana in Kumasi in the 1-1 draw.
Denis Iguma: We are not here for revenge. We went to play to the best of our abilities to erase the loss in Namboole. The dreadlocked Guma has been at the right back position for Uganda Cranes in this entire campaign right form the game against Madagascar.
Murishid Juuko: Every player has a first day at work (pitch). If given chance, i will make use of it. Juuko is one of the youngest players on the team at just 21. He is yet to play for the Cranes in this campaign but is highly rated by the technical team after his impressive displays during the Cranes Na Mutima campaigns in Mbarara, Soroti and Gulu.
Head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic: I prepare each player to be ready for the game at all times. I believe whoever is picked will be ready for duty. Suspensions and injuries are part of the game of which we must must solutions. I believe the Togolese will have a different approach to the game as opposed to the one used in Namboole.
