The FUFA Emergency Executive Committee has made changes aimed at re-organising the management and technical set up of the Uganda National teams with immediate effect.
The latest development sees FUFA divide the National teams into two categories; Junior teams and the National Senior sides all with different personnel.
‘FUFA would like to thank the coaches who have played a key role for the Senior and Junior teams during the period they were on duty with the players. The changes will help for continuity purposes, growth and development of players in the categorised National teams. Further reviews on the technical personnel of the Uganda Cranes and other National teams will be made and communicated in due course’ said FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.
The changes are effected are follows;
The National Senior teams-Uganda Cranes and U-23-Kobs will be headed by Sebastien Desabre.
Matia Lule will remain the Ag. Assistant Uganda Cranes coach.
The National Junior teams (U-17 and U-20) will also be under one management whose head coach is yet to be named.
However KCCA FC Soccer Academy coach Jackson Magera will be the 1st Assistant coach while Hamza Lutalo is the 2nd Assistant coach. Kiberu Mubarak is the goalkeepers’ coach, Emma Nakabago (Head of Medical) while Frank Bumpenjje is the kitsman.
CECAFA U-20 Tournament 2019-Uganda
14th – 27th January 2019
FUFA has released a 31 man provisional squad for the CECAFA U-20 tournament that kicks off on 14th January 2019.
Eighteen of the Uganda U-17 national team (Cubs) players who won the 2018 CAF region U-17 qualifiers in Tanzania for the AFCON 2019 U-17 finals are part of the 31 man team.
The others are from the junior sides of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and schools.
The team starts residential training at the FUFA Technical centre, Njeru on Friday, 4th January 2019
