Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has conducted a physical fitness test for 141 Referees at St Henry’s College, Kitovu in Masaka.
Of these, 21 are FIFA referees and 121 are FUFA badge holders.
The exercise acts as a criterion to qualify them for all FUFA sanctioned leagues and tournaments as the Azam Uganda Premier League, FUFA Big League,FUFA Uganda Cup, FUFA drum, regional leagues, district leagues, among others.

Ronnie Kalema an Exexutive member and Chairman Referees Committee commissioned the exercise.
Hinting on the essence of the exercise, Kalema noted that fitness tests are imperative for qualitative representation of refereeing in the country.

Ali Kalyango, an Instructor described the exercise as an annual event aimed at preparing referees for national league games. According to him 98% of the invited referees passes the exercise.

This coming Wednesday, FUFA will announce the successful 16 centre referees to officiate in top flight league whose kick off will be confirmed in the coming days.
They will be assisted by 32 Assistants making the number 48.
The remaining number will officiate other leagues (FUFA Big League, Regional Leagues and District Leagues).
