The Kampala Region Football Association has organised a six days referees beginners’ course taking place at FUFA House, Mengo.
The Course has attracted 45 participants including those coming from as far as Masaka, Mubende and Kalangala.
The course has both theory and practical sessions for the first five days and the final day will be utilized for examinations.
According to the course examiner, a retired FIFA referee Ali Tomusange, those who will pass the theory and physical fitness test will sit for third paper which will qualify them as beginner referees.
‘This is a strategy by FUFA to have many referees as possible who will officiate games allover Uganda’ Said Tomusange.
He added that similar courses are all taking place at Kajjansi, Bugiri and Seeta which is meant for girls and boys Under the age of 17.
The courses are facilitated by qualified referee instructors Ronnie Kalema, Ali Tomusange, Ali Waiswa, Catherine Adipo, Samuel Egesa, Mansoor Kimumwe, David Davis Katabira and Denis Ojwee.
Those who will pass the physical test and theoretical exams will be awarded with certificates.
