REFEREEING: Ugandan Referees For FIFA/CAF Seminar

The Confederations of African Football (CAF), in continuity with the implementation of its development programme for young promising referees has put in place an annual joint FIFA/CAF training program for talented Non-international Referees with the potential to become FIFA referees.

On the back ground above, CAF requested Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) for the best federal referee (man) for the seminar.

FUFA has thus forwarded Ssali Mashood to represent Uganda for that seminar between 2nd – 8th August 2015 in Cairo, Egypt.

Still on referees education, Ali Bakisuula has been selected by FUFA for the CAF Training programme for non FIFA referees.

Meanwhile, the FUFA Referees Standing Committee (FRSC) has wedged suspensions on four referees who officiated the aborted Uganda Cup match between Sports Club Villa and Kampala City Council at Kyamate grounds in Ntungamo.

Robert Donney the center referee on the day has been suspended for four months.

The other three, Musa Balikowa (first assistant), Robert Makwali  (second assistant) and the 4th Official, Miiro Nsubuga get 2 months apiece.

The suspensions, which were communicated by the Committee chairperson were effected on 1st July 2015.

At the same time, Uganda will be represented by two officials at the 2015 CECAFA Clubs championships in Dar es salaam.

Mashood Ssali and Okello are the only two referees named from Uganda.

Uganda will be represented by Kampala City Council (KCC) football club.
