The Uganda national beach soccer team, the Sand Cranes, officially entered residential training camp on Sunday, 25th May 2025, ahead of the CECAFA Beach Soccer Championship set to take place in Mombasa, Kenya from 6th to 11th June 2025. The 22-man squad reported to FUFA House in Mengo at 10:00 AM before heading to the Bamboo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena in Kasanje for intensive preparations.
Head coach Arch Rica Byaruhanga will lead the technical team, assisted by Akabwai Geofrey and Baker Lukooya, as the Sand Cranes aim to make a strong statement at this year’s regional competition. The team includes a mix of experienced players and emerging talent drawn from various beach soccer clubs and institutions across the country.
