Sand Cranes
Uganda Sand Cranes is the Senior Beach Soccer National Team for men. It was first assembled in 2014 during the international friendly against the Sand Heroes of Zanzibar.
The Current head coach is Salim Jamal Muwonge. The captain is Meddie Kibirige.
Sand Cranes lastest engagement was in December 2019 during the COPA Dar es Salaam Beach Soccer Tournament.
2021 AFCON BEACH SOCCER FINALS – SENEGAL
The Uganda national beach soccer team, the ‘Sand Cranes’ made it to the final AFCON Beach soccer tournament for the first time in their history and finished fourth.
Played in Saly City, Senegal between 23rd-29th May 2021, the Sand Cranes were pitted in group A along with hosts Senegal, neighbors Tanzania and DR. Congo before the former pulled out at the eleventh hour.
