The FUFA Big league regular season is weeks away from completion before the play offs set in.

Towards the final bend of the regular season, temperatures in either groups (Rwenzori and Elgon) are nearing boiling point for obvious reasons.

Clubs are playing to get promoted to the elite league (Azam Uganda Premier league) and others safe-guarding to avoid being relegated.

Proline in the Rwenzori group is just a victory away from promotion when they they visit Synergy at Masaka Recreational stadium this Saturday.

In the Elgon group, there is a stiff battle that lies ahead between Sporting United (Lira) and Arua’s Onduparaka.

The two sides are set to face off in a potential title decider in the coming two weeks.

In the five games played on Thursday, 12 goals were scored with routine victories for Ndejje University, Busia Fisheries and Hope Doves.

Ndejje University edged visiting Lira United 4-1, a similar scoreline that was registered in Busia Fisheries home triumph over Mbale side, CRO.

Hope Doves won 1-0 away to Sun City at the Nyakasanga play ground.

Entebbe based club, Masavu was held to a goal-less by Kireka United, the second draw after the 3 all draw away to Citizens in Mbarara.

Three clubs shall be promoted to the Azam Uganda Premier League with the best two qualifying directly.

The third team is determined via a promotional play off that will be played at the KCCA stadium, Lugogo.

The Big league resumes on Saturday with three games.
