Senegal has picked the three maximum points away from Monrovia after edging Liberia 2-0 in a group ‘J’ match played in Samuel Doe Sports Complex stadium this Sunday.
Liberia now leads the group with 9 points against 8 of Uganda. Kenyan Referee Davies Ongenche Omweno awarded a penalty to Senegal that was converted by Papiss Cisse in the 19th minute of the first half. Cisse netted the second for the Senegalese in the 54th minute before he was substituted ten minutes later by Salif Sane.
Uganda fought from a goal down to beat Angola 2-1 in Namboole yesterday . The two teams meet in September for their last group match that will determine the winner into the last group of ten.
