The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has learnt with big shock the sudden death of Mr. Nur Said Mohamud the Somali Football Association President who allegedly died in a bomb blast this Wednesday.
It is a big ‘robbery’ not only to the people of Somalia but to the entire African continent. Mohamud has been a committed and focused football administrator whose efforts as an FA President had automatically yielded results in Mogadishu.
We shall greatly miss him in our region as a Cecafa member. It’s however regrettable that he has lost his life to the continued insecurity in Somalia, a challenge all African political leaderships have to address to return total sanity in our continent.
The prevailing situations in Somalia, Libya, Egypt and Mali among others are worrying to us as football fans and administrators.
May his soul rest in eternal peace
