Pilsner Announces 90M Shillings Package for FUFA Super 8 Tournament

The beautiful game of football in Uganda continues to ascend up the ladder in the era of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) President Eng. Moses Magogo.

The latest landmark is the return of Uganda Breweries Limited under the Pilsner “The Kings Beer” brand into the sponsorship docket.

On Monday, 30th July 2018, Pilsner has announced a Shs 90M package for the inaugural newly born competition, The Pilsner FUFA Super 8 tournament.

Unveiling the sponsorship at the roof top of Uganda Breweries Limited plant in Luzira,  the Pilsner brand manager Catherine Twesigye expressed gratitude upon their return to associate with a great brand as FUFA.

“As Uganda Breweries Limited with the Pilsner beer, we are glad that to associate with FUFA to sponsor the top Super tournament. Beer and football are inseparable.  We are offering Shs 90M cash and other things in cash. As an iconic brand, Pilsner is excited to sponsor this tournament. This is greatness to the king himself” Twesigye noted.

Representing the FUFA President at this momentous event, Rogers Byamukama, the FUFA marketing and Communications committee chairperson, who is also an Executive Committee member expressed appreciation for Uganda Breweries Limited for the timely sponsorship.

Flanked by the FUFA Marketing Director, Esther Musoke, Byamukama hailed the FUFA marketing department for yet another sponsor brought on board;

“We thank  Uganda Breweries Limited for this timely offer to sponsor the FUFA Super 8. We shall not disappoint. Let the football roar. In the five year development plan of the Federation, one of the key pillars in football development is that of competitions. At the start of the year, we started with the FUFA Drum and now we have the Super eight. Super eight is here to stay. Format of this year is unique and exciting. We vow to respect the safety and health precautions of the sponsor” Byamukama noted.

Byamukama also communicated about the absence for Vipers Sports Club who requested the federation to be left out in this inaugural edition since they had already planned for a different arrangement at the same timing of the tournament (August).

Esther Musoke added the strong voice of appreciation to the sponsor in a typical marketing dialect;

We thank Uganda Breweries Limited for this sponsorship. This sponsorship has definitely opened doors to many more partnerships ahead.

Jinja based BUL Football Club, which finished 7th in the 2018/19 season has thus replaced Vipers Sports Club.

Meanwhile, the draws to confirm which team will host the other were also held.

The tournament will tentatively kick off on Saturday, 4th August 2018 when KCCA hosts BUL at Lugogo.

The other dates for the remaining fixtures will be confirmed in the coming days.
