Preparations for the successful 2017/18 Stanbic Uganda Cup quarter finals continue to progress with smoothly.

On Thursday, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in conjunction with the tournament main sponsors, Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited have held a well attended press conference at Kati-Kati Restaurant, Lugogo By-pass in Kampala.

The press conference lasted for strictly 30 minutes.

Three of the head coaches for this weekend’s Quarterfinals matches attended the press conference; Kitara coach missed as his team was due to play Sharp FC today in the FUFA Big League in Hoima.

What they said:

Wasswa Bbosa (SC Villa Jogoo Head coach):

We are ready for the match against KJT. It is one club that we know inside out. They are our neighbors and we respect them but we shall play our hearts out because the target this season is for a seasonal double.

Abubakar Sseguya (KJT Head coach):

This is the moment to show that our previous results in this journey of the Stanbic Uganda Cup were by hard work. We shall play Villa at Lugogo and ready to eliminate them like we did against URA and BUL. KJT is a good team and we have good players.

Mike Mutebi (Head coach, KCCA):

The romance of the Stanbic Uganda Cup tournament lies upon the unpredictability of the event. Clubs of all stature have the capacity to pull decent results moreso, from the so called big clubs. As KCCA, we are prepared for such clubs. We have played friendly matches with regional clubs and on such unfavourable playing fields. Those are the grounds we have in Uganda. My team is definitely the favourite but we have to prove that on the field of play.
