In an event that took place at the Sheraton Hotel on Monday, 15th January 2023, the Round of 64 Draws of the Stanbic Uganda Cup were graced by FUFA Executive Committee Member Rogers Mulindwa, Isaac Ajiji, the head of sponsorship at Stanbic Bank, Hajati Aisha Nalule, the Director of Competitions, and two football legends, Isma Kirungi and John Baptist Luboga—both former players of Coffee FC, the inaugural winners.
While making his remarks, Rogers Mulindwa commended Stanbic Bank and Plascon Uganda for accepting to walk the first half together.

Isaac Ajiji, the head of sponsorship at Stanbic Bank Uganda re-echoed the banks’ pride in supporting sports as it brings people together.
Stanbic Bank has been part of the competition since the 2017-2018 season and we are very proud of what has been done so far. We sponsor football because it is a game of passion, pride and it brings people together, and as a bank, we pride in that.

The FUFA Competitions Director Hajati Aisha Nalule highlighted that the number of teams that participated in the preliminary stage was 312. And of those, 33 teams are joining the 31 from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and betPawa Big League to make a total of 64.
