Gaddafi FC 4-0 Nyamityobora FC
Gaddafi FC kept their dreams of earning promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League alive after overcoming Nyamityobora FC in the playoffs at the FUFA Tenchical Centre, Njeru on Sunday.
A dominant display from the Soldier Boys saw them outclass their counterparts, earning a comfortable 4-0 win.
Striker Ronald Bithum Nsumbiano led the way for Gaddafi FC scoring a brace while Mark Bamukyaye and James Otim added a goal apiece.
Right from onset, the Jinja based side looked better of the two and were in charge of proceedings.
Otim and Joel Madondo posed threat at Nyamityobora FC backline especially in the opening minutes, coming of either flank.
It was Nsumbiano who opened the scores in the 19th minute, heading home from Umaru Kyeyune well delivered cross.
The striker dashed to the near post and was quick to brush the ball into the back of the net.
Six minutes later, Nsumbiano was fouled inside the area and referee Ronald Madanda did not hesitate to point to the spot.
Bamukyaye made no mistake to convert the resultant penalty, sending goalkeeper Tonny Musinguzi the wrong way.
Nsumbiano got his second and the third for Gadaffi FC in the 36th minute with yet another header and the team comfortably led 3-0 at the break.
Otim put the icing on the cake with the four goal, six minutes from time to ensure the Soldier Boys advanced to the final qualifying round.
Gaddafi FC now awaits the winner between Proline FC and Blacks Power FC who face off in the other playoff game.
The winners today will face off on Tuesday to determine the third team that will get promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Arua Hill SC and Tooro United FC who already earned promotion after topping Elgon and Rwenzori Groups respectively.
