FUFA’s efforts to improve capacity building in the technical area has seen 76 coaches graduate with CAF B and CAF A certification.
27 coaches were awarded CAF A Licenses while 49 coaches received CAF B licenses at a ceremony graced by FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo on Tuesday morning at FUFA House, Mengo.
The CAF A holders underwent their course in June 2016 while the CAF B graduates held their studies in January 2017 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
While addressing the graduates, the FUFA President urged the coaches to implement what was learnt during the courses. The FUFA President applauded improvement in the quality of the game in Uganda.
‘What we want is not the piece of paper you have received but it is the work that we are interested in. So let us try as much as possible to implement what we have learnt and I must confess that there has been general improvement in the quality of football in Uganda’ said the FUFA President.
Eng. Magogo also advised coaches to be concerned with their own conduct because they are football managers and players need to understand that their coaches are disciplinarians, man managers, professional and straight forward.
He also urged coaches to protect their jobs by acquiring practicing licenses from FUFA such that masqueraders are kept out of the coaching profession.
At the same occasion, the FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson said that this is in line with the Federation’s vision “To be the number one football national in Africa on and off the field” and the federation is empowering coaches to achieve the mission.
The newly elected chairman of the Uganda Football Coaches Association Stone Kyambadde asked the tacticians to become members of the Association
