TECHNICAL & DEVELOPMENT: FIFA’s Govinden Thondoo jets in for review and assessment

FIFA Technical development officer Govinden Thondoo has arrived in the country for a three day visit in which he will assess and review all FIFA Technical and development programmes undertaken by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
Thondoo jetted in on Wednesday evening and is scheduled to hold discussions with various personnel and top officials at FUFA.

The list of people Thondoo will meet;

  • FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo
  • FUFA Technical Director Asumani Lubowa and his entire team of Women Officer Hadijah Namuyanja and Education Officer Jackson Nyiima
  • Chairman Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) Mutabazi Deo
  • National Coordinator Grassroots programme Willis Muwanguzi

The projects are extended to Member associations under the FIFA Performance programme in which FUFA has already got courses for grass roots football, Beach Soccer, referees, Live Your Goals and the just concluded FIFA Women coaching course in Njeru.

Thondoo’s review will also cover the inaugural FUFA women elite league that is on recess now after the completion of the first round that also saw the world’s soccer governing body give all the 12 women teams in the top flight get football equipment.

Meanwhile FUFA will get two more courses this year from FIFA in the area of goalkeeping (football) in July and refereeing (Beach Soccer) in December.
