Technical: Ladies among participants for the FUFA beginners’ coaching course

Gender sensitivity in football development is a key ingredient as far as developing the beautiful game world wide is concerned.

From technical expertise, refereeing, communications, marketing, administration and management, either genders have crucial and equal tasks to undertake.

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), too believes in gender equality.

On Monday, a level one beginners’ coaching course (theory and practical) started with a massive number of 43 coaches, women inclusive.

Aisha Nakato,  Aidah Namwase and Tracy  Namutebi are some of the diligent females at the week-long course organised by Tangosport Uganda.

The course is taking place at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, Buikwe.

Youth Development officer Bashir Mutyaba, Joseph Mutaka the Managing Director Tangosport Uganda and Paul Mukembo, the Education Affairs Manager Tangosport witnessed the official opening of the course.

Tangosport director Joseph Mutaka expressed his gratitude upon the overwhelming turn up;

I take this opportunity to welcome you coaches, turning up in commendable numbers creates a sense of satisfaction and trust in Tangosport Uganda, this is a record attendance since we started organizing courses way back in 2013.

This signals  that the Tangosport brand is  growing everyday that passes, no words can really portray my sincere appreciation and happiness.

I also take this opportunity to commend our dear sponsors for the unconditional support accorded to us whenever we knocked their doors for assistance.

We feel we are doing a great job that is to say our primary target in the Education Sector is producing 620 Coaches through our Tangosport Education System by 2022, and all i know with your support, we shall be there

Richard Kimera, the FUFA vice chairperson media committee was the chief guest at the grand opening.

Kimera represented the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo (away for Uganda Cranes duty).

During his address, Kimera hinted of capacity building as one of the core values of the federation;

I convey warm greetings from FUFA President, he’s happy and proud of Tangosport’s  tireless efforts streamlined in line to  football professionalism.

Please keep the candle burning, professionalism is  the only way to go, Capacity building is one core value FUFA highly rate for transformation of the game and one of the many fruits is AFCON Qualification after 39 years

Course instructor Bashir Mutyaba spoke on behalf of FUFA and other course facilitators was quick to applaud Tangosport and FUFA for this move.

CAF Instructors including FUFA Education Officer Jackson Nyima, FUFA Technical Director Asuman Lubowa and  FUFA Youth Development Officer Bashir Mutyaba are the course facilitators who will take the participants through different course modules.

Mutyaba noted;

Education is one aspect FUFA has pegged emphasis onto, Let’s embrace these courses for a better tomorrow and  sustainability of the game in Uganda.

Football is one virgin industry Ugandans should diligently handle with care, can give you all the assurances you’re in the right place in the right time for the right cause.
