Action in the FUFA Drum resumes this weekend with West Nile hosting Kampala in the first leg of the quarterfinal stage on Sunday at Greenlight stadium.
West Nile will have a huge boost in their quest to progress to the semifinals with strikers Fahad Bayo and Muhammad Shaban joining the camp.
The aforementioned duo have not featured in the previous games due to various reasons.
Bayo features for Bnei Sakhnin in Israel while Shaban recently moved from Onduparaka FC to KCCC FC.
Dudu Bosco, the Head Coach of the West Nile Province team is confident the pair is a great addition to their camp.
“I am happy to have the two join us ahead of the game against Kampala. I believe they will help us in search for goals because they are established forwards that have proven their ability.” He said.
The coach added he is aware of Kampala Province’s strength given the squad they have but he is confident his troops will overcome them.
To reach the quarterfinals, West Nile eliminated Karamoja 6-0 on aggregate.
On the other hand, Kampala Province Assistant Coach Paul Kiwanuka is buoyant that his team will do well and hopes for a good result at the Green Light Stadium come Sunday.
“Although seven of our players are currently with the Uganda U23 team, we are unfazed because we have a big pool to pick from. West Nile is good with quality players but I know we have what it takes to go past them.” He said.
Kampala eliminated Bukedi 4-1 on aggregate at the round of 16.
This will be the first meeting between the two provinces since the inception of the FUFA Drum in 2018.
