A brand new Uganda Cup trophy has been unveiled, expertly blending modern elegance with profound symbolic meaning to commemorate football and culture towards football development in Uganda.
The striking design boasts a wide, gleaming bowl shaped top, crafted from six distinct rings, representing the competitive rounds of the tournament, from the preliminary stage to the grand finale.
Six robust vertical rods rise from a solid circular base, supporting the bowl and adding to the trophy’s beauty.
The design draws inspiration from the traditional Karamojong stool, a culturally significant symbol of strength, identity and resilience in northeastern Uganda.
The trophy’s bowl-shaped top mirrors the stool’s form, known for its versatility and enduring presence in daily life.
The trophy rests firmly on a substantial circular base, underscoring its strength and permanence. The title ‘FUFA UGANDA CUP’ is engraved on the foundation, affirming the trophy’s identity as the crowning jewel of Uganda’s longest-standing knockout football competition since 1971.
