Three-Day CAF Safe Stadium Initiative Workshop Starts

Scheduled from November 19th to 21st, the CAF Safe Stadium Initiative Workshop seeks to standardise safety and security operations across CAF Member Associations. Uganda is the thirteenth country to have the training.

The forty participants attending the workshop are the members of FUFA, local security agencies and stadium management teams.

While making the opening remarks, the Head of the Security Department at CAF emphasised the importance of the workshop.

It is an initiative to empower Safety and Security Officers. The idea is that we need to change how we are doing things in Africa. We (CAF) have changed competitions, now we are working on Safety and Security. We want to make sure that when people turn on the TV, it is the same thing being seen.

He also mentioned that there will be subsequent training online with CAF and FIFA. Participants will be awarded certification.

After this traning, we will continue online via the CAF platform and later on the FIFA platform with certifications being awarded.

We don’t favour people to do roles or as friends. As a Federation, we are keen to do roles in a very professional way.
