2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Qualifiers; Togo Vs Uganda: 27 players summoned for Cranes duty

Sunday, 15th November 2015: Uganda Vs Togo – Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Kampala

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has announced the 27 players set to play for Uganda in the up-coming Cranes 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifiers against Togo.

The coach released the sqaud on Thursday morning at FUFA House during the weekly press conference in Mengo, Kampala.

Micho said;

FIFA requires a list of 50 players. We submitted that pool but i will summon 27 that we shall pick for the away game in Lome and the return leg in Kampala. Training starts immediately. We are focused and committed towards accomplishing the job

Three of the Uganda Cranes players summoned; Tonny Mawejje, Geofrey Kizito and Moses Oloya attended the press conference.

Mawejje assured the public about the commitment they (the players) have towards the team.

First, i thank you for the confidence you have in us. We are ready to give the best service” Mawejje told the media.

Team training has officially started on Thursday with aerobics at Paradise Gym on Acacia Mall in Kampala.

Meanwhile Joseph Mutaka has been appointed to handle all media related activities for the two matches between Uganda Cranes and Togo. Mutaka has already performed the same roles with the Cranes when they beat Tanzania in the 2016 African Nations Championship qualifiers.
