Total Africa Cup of Nations 2017: Uganda Cranes team remains solid and focused heading to the christmas holiday

As days draw closer to the eagerly awaited Total Africa Cup of Nations 2017, the Uganda National football team (Uganda Cranes) has conducted day five of residential training on Friday.

The team started with a gym session at Paradise Fitness Center Acacia Mall, Kamwokya and later shifted to Kabira Country Club for ball work.

El Merriekh goalkeeper Salim Jamal trained for the first time with the team on Friday.

The team has been reduced by nine players after Friday’s training  at the Islamic University in Uganda, Kabojja for the Christmas break.

‘The players reduced from the camp still have a lot to offer to Uganda Cranes. They are the future of Ugandan football and such training sessions with the National team give them a true picture for the future once called for international engagements’ said Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Sredejovic while talking to fufa.co.ug.

These include; Joseph Nsubuga (SC Villa Jogoo, Uganda), Richard Kassaga Jjuuko (URA, Uganda), Halid Lwaliwa (Vipers, Uganda), Rashid ‘Mertasacker’ Toha (Onduparaka, Uganda),  Kizito Kezironi (Vipers, Uganda), Ibrahim Saddam Juma (Express, Uganda), Paul Mucurezi (KCCA, Uganda), Martin Kiiza (SC Villa, Uganda) and Erisa Ssekisambu (Vipers, Uganda).

All the players still on the team are expected to return on Monday 26th December 2016  for the afternoon training session.

The training will resume on Monday together with other foreign based players who will have joined the team then.

Midfielders: Tonny Mawejje (Knattspyrnufélagið Þróttur, Iceland), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Vipers, Uganda), Muzamiru Mutyaba (KCCA, Uganda),  Godfrey ‘Jajja Walu’ Walusimbi (Gor Mahia, Kenya) and Abdulmalick Vitalis Tabu (SC Villa, Uganda)
