TOTAL CAF U-20 Qualifiers – Preliminary Round

South Sudan 0-3 Uganda Hippos

(Uganda qualifies 8-1 on aggregate)

Uganda National U-20 team, The Hippos overcame South Sudan 3-0 during the return leg of the TOTAL CAF U-20 qualifiers on Saturday at the Juba national stadium in Juba town.
Steven Mukwala of Vipers Sports Club netted the opening two goals of the well attended match.
KCCA’s Allan Okello got the the other. All the three goals were scored in the second half.

There were only two changes on the team that won 5-1 at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo in Kampala three weeks ago.
St Mary’s Kitende left back Robert Kitabalwa, replacing the suspended Mustafa Kizza started at left back and Ivan Eyamu of FUFA Big league club, Kataka F.C started in the place of Joshua Okiror.

A section lively fans in the stands, many of whom were carrying the Uganda flags and donned in Uganda national jerseys
The team thus qualified 8-1 on aggregate having won 5-1 in the first leg.
Uganda now booked a berth to round one and the final stage of the qualifiers where they they play Cameroon in a two legged qualifier.
The team was proudly captained by KCCA’s Julius Poloto.

The delegation from South Sudan returns on Sunday morning at Entebbe International Airport as they embark on the preparations for the first round with Cameroon.
Uganda will play away against Cameroon in the first leg before climaxing at home.
A number of high profile dignitaries led by Agama Woling Anthony attended the match
Uganda’s ambassador in South Sudan, Agama Woling Anthony watched the match and donated $ 300 to the players.
