Buganda Regional Select and the Uganda Cranes played to a one-all draw during a regional tour match at the Naama playground in Mityana on Sunday, 20th March 2022.

Rogers Mato and Rajab Jooga scored for the national team and regional select side respectively.

Mato headed home the opener off a headed assist from teammate Hassan Jurua in the 26th minute.

The equalizer from Jooga arrived towards the end of the first half off Umar Kayemba’s through ball.

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic granted playing time to many of the players as he cited key positives from the match.

‘We are glad to have traveled to Mityana for the regional tour match. We picked plenty of positives from this match’ Micho revealed.

This was the first regional tour since 2022, preparing the team for the upcoming four nation tournament in Uzbekistan.

FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson was among the officials who graced the match.

Others included Executive Committee members Samuel Mpiima and Abdul Lukooya, Andrew Kaweesa (Buganda Region Football Association chairman), regional delegate Bast Ssemuyamba, among others.
