Vastly experienced midfielder Tonny Mawejje

Amongst those who trained is experienced midfield gem Tony Mawejje.

It is nearly three years since Tony Mawejje last donned the Uganda Cranes Jersey.

The midfield dynamo could hardly conceal his elation after receiving the news of his summon for the national team to prepare for the AFCON 2021 Qualifiers double header against South Sudan.

In an interview with www.fufa.co.ug, Mawejje said that it’s always a matter of time when one is prepared.

I am glad that I have returned to the National team setup. It seems a surprise to many but I expected it. I am in the best shape to deliver like before. My role is to train,  follow instructions and the technical team does the selection. My vast experience with the national team has to create an impact‘ Mawejje disclosed.
