Uganda Cranes defender Kalungi initiates foundation, donates to under privileged

Uganda Cranes and Charlotte Independence defender Henry Kalungi has initiated the Henry Kalungi foundation.

The foundation is intended to help the under privileged children in the society who aspire to play football at the biggest stage in life.

On Wednesday, Kalungi who was accompanied by his wife Jacqueline Kalungi, Tom and Susan Gunderson, SC Villa CEO Ivan Kakembo among others, took to Buganda Road Primary School playground to give to charity.

He demonstrated football skills to children from the neighboring slums of Makerere Kivulu and Katanga before donating scholastic and football gear as a way of motivating them.

“1 Chron 16:34 “Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever”! Today has been a wonderful day as we celebrated our Christmas party in the Henry Kalungi foundation.God is good and there is a lot to be thankful for.I thank all my family that worked tirelessly to make sure the kids are taken care of and all our friends that helped make this day special. We managed to give gifts to most of the kids.Over 300 kids ate and enjoyed soft drinks. We are looking forward to doing our best to change kids lives.Thank you everyone and God bless you all.We shall post more pictures later and videos” Kalungi wrote on his official facebook page.

The foundation is going to aid the under-privileged children.

Kalungi has already earned 15 caps with the Uganda national team. He believes in the power of volunteering.

“Volunteering, the selfless service of charitable work is noble, rewarding, and challenging. Just like it is important to ensure a future for Children, it is equally important to ensure the welfare and lives of our Children.
