Preparations for the first ever football stakeholders’ symposium in Uganda are in advanced stages with the Local Organizing Committee having already held four meetings.
The symposium was an idea that was mooted shortly by FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo and his Executive after the Uganda Cranes failure to qualify for the 2015Nations cup finals.
The Symposium, whose main objective is the ‘Road Map to Project Cameroon 2019’ will be held at Imperial Royale and has been reduced to a one day event on Friday 23rd January, 2015.
In a planning meeting where the FUFA President made a brief speech to the committee members, Magogo said he was happy with the progress of the project.
‘I thank the members for taking up the tasks. I’m excited with the project and i believe we shall achieve our goals’ said Magogo.
The chairman of the Local Organizing Committee Justus Mugisha briefed members on the topics to be discussed and also revealed the countries form which the presenters will come from.
Mugisha also notified members that local sports administrators will be tasked to make presentations on football issues towards the ‘Road Map to Project Cameroon 2019’.
The international experts will come from England, Ghana, Kenya, Germany and South Africa

The President has been an ardent supporter and follower of local football especially the Uganda Cranes where he injected financial support of over One billion shillings to the national team of the U-17 and Uganda Cranes last year.
The topics to be discussed are;
1-Challenges and opportunities for football in Uganda
2-Good governance and football development
3-The role of the media in football development
4-Football structures and their implications to football
5-The fans and football development today
6-The Unique role of government and corporate world in football development
7-The Capacity building of football coaching in Uganda
8-Resources for football development
9-Talent identification and role of the player in football development
The symposium Committee named in November has: Justus Mugisha, Patrick Isiagi, Dr. Bernard Ogwel, Kennedy Mutenyo, Norah Nassimbwa, Patrick Mugumya, Mark Namanya, Rogers Mulindwa and Sam Mpiima.
The committee is working with other members selected from the FUFA Secretariat and other sections of football society.
