On Wednesday evening, the Uganda Cranes team held a successful training session in Lome where the team has been in camp for acclimatisation ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifier against Ghana on Friday 7th \October in Tamale.
The first part of the recovery training after Tuesday’s international build up match against Togo mainly focused on possession and quickly regaining it from the opponent once lost before it switched to the utilisation of wing play and crossing of balls into the penalty area.
‘We have no time to dwell on the result of the game we played against Togo because our focus has always been on the qualifier against Ghana on October 7th. The Togo game simply helped us identify areas we need to improve and polish some others to help us get a very good result in Tamale.’ Micho said after the training session that lasted close to two hours.
Goalkeeper Denis Onyango who didn’t feature in Tuesday’s game against Togo after joining the team late owing to flight delays today joined the team in training and was in good spirit as goalkeeping coach took him and his assistants Salim Jamal and Benjamin Ochan through the drills.
The team leaves Lome on Thursday morning to Accra for a flight to Tamale in time for the last team training at the venue of the game on Friday.
