UGANDA CRANES PLAYERS’ BONUSES AND ALLOWANCES: FUFA fulfilled its promises

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) would like to clear the air on the distorted and disturbing information regarding the payment of bonuses and allowances of Uganda cranes players in the just concluded 2015 Nations cup campaign.

Despite releasing the actual facts, figures and information, there seems to be a deliberate campaign in some sections of the media geared at feeding the public with wrong facts.

It is true that FUFA promised to improve on the players’ bonuses in the final two games of the campaign against Ghana and Guinea if qualification was attained. This was aimed at motivating the players.

A combined figure of $10,000 was promised by FUFA to each player if Uganda Cranes had achieved results to take the country to the Finals.

However no pro-rata method for payment was designed to each game as the $10,000 promise to each player was a special arrangement on top of what the team had been receiving as per the FUFA bonus payments scheme to the Uganda Cranes players.

FUFA would also like to put it on record that there were no outstanding dues before the game between Guinea and Uganda in Casablanca Morocco.

Every Uganda Cranes player and team official that played a role in the just concluded campaign fully received and signed for their bonuses and allowances as agreed before the start of the campaign.

For the entire campaign, FUFA made payments in bonuses and allowances of not less than $10,800 to each player totaling to UGX 800M (Eight Hundred Million shillings).

FUFA is hopeful that this communication will put to rest any questions about the players’ bonuses and allowances.
It is our country, It is our Game.
