Uganda Cranes squad for friendly against Ethiopia released

2015 Afcon Group E Qualifier:

Sat, 15th November: Uganda Vs Ghana (Namboole Stadium)

Wednesday 19th November: Guinea vs Uganda in Morocco

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic today morning named a strong squad of 26 players to face Ethiopia on Sunday 9th November 2014 at Mandela National Stadium.

El Merrikh goal keeper Jamal Salim and Vipers midfielder Keziron Kizito are the first time national team call ups.

The team starts immediate training at Namboole stadium on Wednesday evening.

‘This match comes to us at a time we needed it technically ahead of the ties against Ghana and Guinea. The best performers from the friendly on Sunday will be joined by the other foreign based players for the Ghana and Guinea clashes’ Micho explained.

At the same press conference, medical doctors, Dr. Shaban Mugerwa  from Ministry of Health (head of the National STD/AIDS Control programme, Care and Treatment Programmes) and Dr James Sekajugo (the Chairman FUFA Medical committee, who also sits on the same committees at CAF and FIFA levels).

Dr.  Mugerwa appreciated the media’s effort and commended FUFA for the cause towards the campaign geared at sensitizing the public about the deadly HIV and AIDS.
Testing and counseling will also take place for the fans on Sunday before and during the match.

The match will be played under the theme ‘Protect the Goal’ campaign.
