Uganda Cranes to play Iraq ahead of CHAN, CECAFA tourneys

Henry Kalungi, Brian Umony and Geoffrey Kizito will all miss in action against Iraq as Head Coach Micho opted for new faces a head of CECAFA and CHAN

As part of the preparations for both CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup and CHAN 2014 competitions due in Kenya and South Africa respectively, FUFA has organized an international friendly match against Iraq on October 2.

Cranes head Coach Micho has this Wednesday named the 31 man squad that will soon start training before their expected flight next Monday.

The highly ranked game will however be played in Amman City, Jordan due to the continued insecurity in Iraq.

The named squad comprises relatively new faces that Micho says should be granted an opportunity to try their luck as we prepare for the continental championship.

The squad is as below:

Goal keepers: 1. Bwette Brian 2.Ochan Benjamin, 3.Watenga Isma, 4.Lukwago Charles, 5.Elongot Martin.

Full backs: 6.Ntambi Julius (right full back), 7. Wasswa Hassan (right full back) , 8. Namwanje Simon (left full back), 9. Kigozi Fredrick (left full back)

Central defenders: 10. Kabugo Savio, 11. Kasagga Richard, 12. Twaha Wananda, 13 .Mukisa Yusuf, 14. Mugabi Jonathan, 15.Ayub Kisalita, 16. Timothy Musimbuzi.

Central Midfielders: 17. Iguma Denis, 18. Stephen Luswata, 19. Juuko Murushid, 20. Hamis Katende.

Attacking Midfielders: 21. Mpande Joseph 22. Nkumbi Brian 23. Yasin Kalyango 24. Feni Moses Ali 25. Kyeyune Said, 26. Majwega Brian

Strikers: 27. Olaki Francis, 28. Kalanda Frank, 29. Alex Witaba, 30. Okwi Simon, 31. Dan Oyirwoth.
