Uganda U17 National Boys Football Team (Uganda Cubs) has learnt opponents for the forthcoming TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations Zonal Qualifiers.
In the draws conducted on Thursday by CECAFA, Uganda Cubs who are the defending Champions have been pooled in Group B alongside Djibouti, Rwanda, Sudan, Burundi.
The team is currently in camp at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru preparing for the Qualifiers that will take place between September 30th to October 19th, 2022 at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
To win the 2020 edition held in Rwanda, Uganda defeated Kenya 2-1 in the final.
The best two teams from each group will qualify for the semi finals and the winners will qualify to represent the region in the U-17 AFCON 2023 in Algeria.
Group A: Ethiopia, Tanzania, Eritrea, Somalia, South Sudan
B: Uganda, Djibouti, Rwanda, Sudan, Burundi
