2014 Uganda Cup final: KCC Vs URA
Sat, 7th June 2014
At Mbale Municipal Stadium
4:00 pm (Kick off)
KCC FC conducted their last training session on Thursday at Lugogo ahead of the Saturday Uganda Cup final against Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) at the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
KCCA FC head coach George Nsimbe is not taking anything for granted ahead of the clash.
On Thursday after his last training before they depart for Eastern region trip on Friday morning KCC players practiced spot kicks as a way of preparing his players should circumstances demand that the Uganda Cup winner for 2014 be decided from the 12 yard distance on Saturday.
‘All throughout this week I have had my players practice taking spot kicks to cover up all gaps such that our opponents are left with no chance. URA FC is a good team and I know they have also prepared very well as this is their only chance of silverware this season so we ought to go into this game very well prepared for anything’ said Nsimbe
Nsimbe whose team has already won the FUFA Super League title added that ‘ This is football and anything can happen but the good thing all my players at this point are prepared both mentally and physically and I believe we are coming back with the trophy’.
Sadly for KCC FC supporters, they will be without key striker Tony Odur whose muscle problem in the right leg has ruled him out of the crucial encounter.
Odur who finished 2nd in the league scorers’ race with 15 goals sustained the injury during their last game of the league against SC Villa but Nsimbe has confidence that his other strikers like Herman Wasswa who is top scorer in the tournament with 7 goals put the ball in URA FC’s net.
KCCA will also miss stylish midfielder, Steven Bengo through suspension for accumulated yellow cards.
URA is already in Mbale having traveled on Wednesday beaming with confidence to lift the Cup they last won in Gulu two seasons ago.
Brian Nsubuga Miiro will be the center referee of the tie.
The Winner will pocket Ug.shs 7,000,000 while the runners up will take Ug. Shs 2,000,000
