Uganda Cup second semi-final, return leg
Jinja Municipal Council 1 – 0 URA (URA wins 4 – 1 on aggregate)
Final: 7th June, 2014 at Mable Municipal Stadium
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club has booked a berth in the final of the 2014 Uganda Cup after progressing over Jinja Municipal Council 4-1 on aggregate.
The Jinja based side beat URA 1 – 0 at Kakindu Stadium but the result was not enough to overturn the 0 – 4 loss they suffered in the first leg at Mehta stadium in Lugazi last Friday.
‘It wasn’t an easy game but we managed to offer what we could and won at our home ground only that we couldn’t edge their goals in first leg’ said Jinja Municipal Council coach Charles Namakola.
Richard Wandyaka ‘s 87th’s minute goal for Jinja Municipal Council won the game for the home based side though it was little too late to help them progress.
‘I wonder why Jinja Municipal Council is not one of the teams going to ply in the Big league play-offs. They have talented players an looked an organised team’ aid URA coach Paul Nkata.
URA will now take on KCC FC on 7th June 2014 in the final that will be played at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
KCC who are chasing a double eliminated defending champions, Sports Club Victoria University on Sunday 2 – 1 on aggregate.
The winner of this cup will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederations cup next year.
