Vipers SC Vs Onduparaka FC
Venue: Nakivubo Stadium (Gates open at 10 a.m)
Entry Fees: 5,000/= (Kirussia), 10,000/= (Covered stands) & 20,000/= (VIP)
All is set for the Uganda Cup final that will be played between Vipers and Onduparaka at Nakivubo Stadium this Saturday.
The final preparations to have a decent final are at their climax and high gear.
On Wednesday, during the weekly press conference at Mengo, Onduparaka was represented by their Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Afeti and Vipers by Peter Lwanga, flanked by the FUFA Competitions Director, Ali Mwebe.
The two club officials promised an entertaining game for the fans.
“We have been yearning for this chance to play Vipers. Thanks God, our prayers have been answered” Afeti noted.
Lwanga hinted on their readiness to win the Uganda Cup.
“We are in a residential camp and all is set to play to our best and win this tournament. We respect Onduparaka, but this is the chance to smile with some silverware” Lwanga said.
This will be followed by a pre-match meeting on Friday at FUFA House in Mengo.
The entry fees for the match are Shs 20,000 (pavilion), 10,000 (covered stands) and Shs 5,000 for general stands and gates will be open at 10 am while kickoff is at 4 pm.
Match Referees:
Match Officials for this day will be FIFA referees Brian Nsubuga Miiro (Center referee), Okello Lee (1st assistant), Ronald Katenya (2nd assistant). William Senkumba will be the 4th official while George Wamala Katumba is the match assessor.
The match day will also be used for collecting items to be donated by FUFA to the Missionaries of the poor as an initiative to reach out to communities through football.
Prizes:
Ug. shs 7 million and a glittering trophy is at stake for the Uganda Cup winner. Both teams are eyeing Cup glory in this competition for the first time
The grand prize was revealed by the FUFA Competitions Director, Ali Mwebe.
The winner of the Uganda Cup will walk away with a trophy, gold medals and a cash prize of Shs 7 million while the runners up will get Shs 2 millions and silver medals
The top scorer will also be rewarded with a golden boot and Shs 200,000.
Muhammad Shaban of Onduparaka is currently leading the scorers tally with 7 goals followed by Erisa Ssekisambu of Vipers who are to face off in the final.
Incase of a tie, the joint top scorers will share the prize.
Airtel Uganda provided some of the prizes as the official partner of the Uganda Cup.
The second presidential award will be given out this day as an appreciation from the FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo as an appreciation to personalities who have contributed to the development and growth of football in Uganda.
