Uganda cup 2016/17 Update: Semifinal dates set, final now to be played in June

The FUFA Competitions committee has made adjustments and pushed forward the date for the final of the 43rd edition of FUFA Uganda Cup

The final which was earlier scheduled to be played on May 27th has now been pushed to June 10th, 2017 after the dates of remaining semifinal fixtures were also adjusted according to a communication released and signed by Ali Mwebe the FUFA Competitions Director.

The two legged semifinal fixtures involving newly crowned Azam Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC and Uganda Cup record winners Express FC have been rescheduled with the first leg now set to be played on Friday May 26 at Philip Omondi Stadium while the return leg to be played four days later on May 30th at Wankulukuku stadium.

The return leg of the first semifinal fixture between Sadolin Paints FC and Paidha Black Angels is set to be played on Saturday May 27th, 2017 at Namboole stadium. The ‘Black Angels’ have their eyes set on to the final that is going to be hosted in the West Nile region in Arua district after their 2-0 win that gives them  a slim advantage against their hosts.

KCCA FC’s Derrick Nsibambi leads the scorers’ charts with 6 goal followed by Vipers’ Erisa Ssekisambu on 5 and Kalanda Frank (Soana FC) who is tied on 4 goals with Masavu’s Lumoro Peter.

Friday- 26th May 2017 KCCA FC – Express FC, Phillip Omondi 4:00PM

Saturday, 27th May 2017 Sadolin Paints – Paidha Black Angels Namboole 4:00PM

Tuesday, 30th May 2017 Express FC – KCCA FC, Wankulukuku 4:00PM

Final: Saturday, 10th June 2017 at Green Light Arua 4:00PM
