The eight (8) FUFA regions are set for the preliminary stages of the 42nd edition of the Uganda Cup.
The Preliminary stage is for the non-league teams and clubs playing at Regional League level. Twenty two (22) slots are allocated for this category.
The FUFA Competitions Director Ali Mwebe said ‘Each region is allocated a specific number of teams in the Uganda Cup. The allocation is as follows; Kampala4, Buganda 4, Eastern 3, Western 3 while Kitara, North East, Northern and West Nile have 2 each’

The Azam Uganda Premier League teams together with the FUFA Big League clubs have a deadline of 5th January 2016 to have registered their teams.
The draws will be held on 21st January, 2016 while the round of 64 kicks off on 23rd January.
Buganda region kicks off
Buganda region has registered 26 teams and draws have been made while the kick-off is slated for Saturday 5th December with the following fixtures;
Lufuka FC -Buwooya SB
Ayod FC vs Masaka FC
Nabugabo FC vs Cream Boda FC
Kiyumbakimu FC vs Bwala FC
Kasenge FC vs Seeta Utd
Free Stars FC vs Kiwanga FC
Nkambi Coffee vs Kyetume FC
Kitende FC vs Kira Utd FC
Kiwoko FC vs Kampala University
Luwero Utd vs Nangabo Green V
Ganda Utd vs Azam FC
Mpigi Utd vs Mulendwe FC
Kakiri TC vs Naminya FC
Meanwhile Kampala region has already registered 20 teams and their draws will be held on Tuesday 8th December and the kick off is on December 15th. Among the 20 registered teams, two are non-League sides-Corporate XI and Vision Group.
Kitara region has registered 6 teams so far, North East 2 while Eastern, Northern, West Nile and Western regions are yet to submit teams from their regions.
The Uganda Cup final will be played on 28th May 2016 at a venue yet to be named.
SC Villa are the Uganda Cup holders and will represent Uganda in the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup.
