Details of the FUFA Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity attached to the 2015/2016 Uganda cup have been released.

With the second most prestigious competition in Ugandan football played on a knockout basis getting to the latter stages, the CSR activity is also taking strong footing.

The semifinals are set for 8th and 12th May, 2016 and will be played over two legs.

The final is slated for 18th June, 2016 at Nakivubo stadium hosted by Kampala Region Football Association.

At the launch of the 2015/2016 Uganda Cup season on 18th November 2015, FUFA revealed that they would attach a humanitarian activity to support communities through the prestigious knock out tournament.

‘We shall attach a CSR activity by collecting clothes and other items that we shall give back to a selected charity organisation within the region that hosts the Uganda cup final. FUFA has also asked its 32 Members to join the cause’ said FUFA Spokesperson Ahmed Hussein during the launch of the 2015/2016 Uganda Cup.

Three main areas have been identified as collection centres.

A special container has been designed and placed at FUFA House in Mengo where members of the public will drop their donations of adult and children’s clothes and other items like shoes, belts, babies toys, hand bags.

In Jinja, a collection centre has been created at Baba fm while Arua is also another centre.

‘We shall also receive donations from individuals who might not be able to make it to these selected centres. FUFA has plans of picking these donations from them’ added Ahmed

On match days of the semifinals, Nakivubo for KCCA FC, Entebbe (Entebbe FC), Buikwe (Vipers SC) and Arua (Onduparaka FC) will also be used as collection centres on 8th and 12th June.

On the day of the Uganda cup final (18th June, 2016), a container will also be placed at Nakivubo stadium for fans to deliver their donations.

The donations will be handed over to a charity organisation by FUFA and Uganda Cup Winners a week after the final.
