The FUFA Competions Committee (FCC)has released an important communication regarding the replay of the Uganda cup match between Hope Soana and Express FC.
SUSPENSION OF MATCH RESCHEDULE FOR FUC 048 HOPE SOANA FC VS EXPRESS FC.
The above match was due to be played to completion today (Tuesday) 25th March 2014 at Kavumba 2:00pm as per verdict of FCC in their meeting held on Monday March 17, 2014.
The verdict was based on both referees and match assessors report that indicated abandonment due to spectators of both teams invading the pitch and invoking Fufa Competitions Rules Art 23 1-3(g) which call for a match to be played to continuation in this regard.
On March 21, 2014, Express FC in their letter Ref:FC 2013/03/21 protested the decision of FCC in FUFA Disciplinary Committee, by close of Bussiness yesterday March 24, 2014, FCC had no communication from Disciplinary Committee, a higher body in regard to Competition Rules.
Art 41 Judicial Units, of the Fufa Uganda Cup Rules states:
1) Competition disputes, protests, petitions, complaints, appeals and general enforcement of these rules shall be handled by the following judicial units in the hierarchical order of bottom to top
(a) Referee
(b) FCC
(c) FUFA Disciplinary Committee
(d) FUFA Appeals Committee
(e) A judicial unit higher than the FUFA Appeals committee as specified in the FUFA Constitution
Since Express FC protested in the body above FCC in enforcement of Fufa Rules, FCC will wait for the verdict of FUFA Disciplinary Committee in this regard over this match.
Therefore, this match as earlier scheduled today (Tuesday March 25, 2014) at Kavumba 2:00pm has been called off until further notice.
