Results: Uganda 13 South Sudan 0/ First leg: South Sudan 0 Uganda 9

Uganda is building a strong women team

Uganda U20 National Women team registered their first ever biggest international win when they walloped visiting South Sudan 13-0 in the second leg of the 2014 FIFA U20 Women World Cup qualifier match played in Kampala this Saturday.

South Sudan therefore got ejected from the competition on a 22-0 aggregate following a first leg 9-0 loss in Juba.

The trio of Rita Kivumbi, Hasfer Nassuna and Sandra Nabweteme scored a hat trick each in a one sided game watched by a relatively small audience of spectators. Other scorers were Dorothy Nakato, Sylivia Nakazibwe, Jeninga Awadifo and Naome Nagaddya.

Kivumbi launched the fight with an early goal in the 3rd minute and wound up the assignment in the 85th minute with a brilliant finishing that left the visitors speechless.

Uganda will now face Egypt on October 26. The best two countries will represent Africa at the final tournament to be held from 5th – 24th August next year in Canada.

FUFA Executive Committee Member and chairperson of the Women Football Committee Marian Nakulima Kaliga hailed her young girls attributing the win to team work from both players and the officials.
