Uganda Hippos beat Busoga United in third friendly match

Uganda Hippos continued with preparations for the upcoming AFCON U20 tournament with their third friendly match on Thursday morning at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

The Hippos played another top tier side Busoga United and won the tie 3-1 to pick their third straight win in friendly games.

Kataka FC energetic forward Emmanuel Mukisa put the Hippos in the lead with a cool finish thanks to Andrew Kawooya penetrative through ball.

Alpha Ssali would have doubled the lead minutes later but had his effort go inches out for a goal kick in the box after Owen Mukisa pass.

In the second half, Jackson Mayanja introduced a number of changes who immediately sparked more fire in the game.

The Hippos scored more two goals in the second stanza through Faizo Wabyoona.

Edrine Opaala Mukisa scored Busoga’s consolation.

The Hippos will play their fourth friendly match on Saturday against Bul FC before shifting camp to the Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisaasi.

The AFCON U20 tournament will take place from 19th February to March 11th 2023.
