Ugandan Players in Diaspora: Onyango wins Seventh League Title, Nsibambi on target for Smouha

Another eye-catching weekend it was for a number of Ugandan players abroad that saw Cranes skipper Denis Onyango become a seven star general in the PSL and much more.

As usual, Ronald Lusulire who hosts Tugukyangira Bunayira Program that purely dissects Ugandan players abroad on 102.1 FUFA fm every Tuesday from 10pm-12MidNight along Sinan Rajub Ssenoga and Senior Abu Zikusooka brings you a compiled report of how our boys and girls fared over the weekend at their respective clubs in the diaspora.

In South Africa, the PSL reached it’s climax with Denis Masinde Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns snatching the title from the noses of Kaizer Chiefs on the final day. The Masandawana beat Black Leopards 3-0 at home in a game Onyango wasn’t in the match day squad.

The championship was Onyango’s fourth at Sundowns and 7th in South Africa thus the tag Seven Star General.

Moses Waiswa wasn’t in the match day squad as his Super Sport United side lost 1-0 at Cape Town City to end the season in fifth place on 50 points.

Elsewhere, forward Derrick Nsibambi continued with his brilliant scoring form in Smouha SC 3-3 draw against nine men Aswan FC. Nsibambi scored in the 15th minute.

Allan Kyambadde started at the right wing before paving way for El Saadawy in the 66th minute as his El Gouna FC side beat Abdu Lumala’s Pyramids FC 2-1 at home.

In the English EFL cup, Elvis Bwomono played full time at right back as his Southend United side lost 1-0 at Gillingham.

Forward Karl Ikepazi Mubiru wasn’t in the match day squad as his new side Wycombe Wanderers lost 4-2 in penalties at Brentford following a 1-1 draw in normal time.

In the Burundi Primus league, Brian Allan Kizza and Steven Mugisha featured for defending Champions Le Messager Ngozi as they fell 3-0 at Flambeau du Centre on match day one.

Defender Joseph Othieno made his league debut for Musongati as they defeated Inter Star 1-0 at home in Burundi.

In the Swedish Suppretan, forward Alexis Bbakka played full time as his Umea FC side drew 1-1 against Brage.

In the Swedish Elitettan Women, Ritah Kivumbi came on in second half for Eriksson as her Mallbackens W beat Alvsjo W 2-0 at home.

In Egypt, Khalid Aucho will be in action as his Misr Lemakasa side visits Emmanuel Okwi’s Al Ittihad.

In the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League, Nicholas Wadada and Azam FC host Polisi Tanzania.

In the MLS, Mike Azira and Chicago Fire will host New England Revolution.
