UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE: Match Day 18 Preview for Tuesday Fixtures

After last week’s Friday and Saturday fixtures that smoothly progressed, the Uganda Premier League (UPL) returns on Tuesday with four of the match day 18 fixtures.

The other four games will be played on Friday (27th February 2015) at various venues.

After winning 0-1 away at Bugembe Stadium to Sadolin Paints last Saturday, Bright Stars Football club plays their first ever home game at the new Matugga stadium when Kira Young F.C (yet to play any second round game) travels for the away tie.

Goal keeper, Mathias Kigonya and right back, Joseph Nsubuga (from U-23 Uganda Kobs duty) are most likely to be unavailable due to fatigue.

Ironically, Kira Young will play Derrick Tekko (captain) and striker, Brian Nkuubi who were part of the Kobs’ away trip in Mozambique.

Left back Fred Nkata is expected to feature in his first game for Kira Young since transferring from SC Villa in the January window.

Lead goal keeper, Ashadu Bugembe will provide Kira Young the necessary back cover with striker Patrick Kaddu, new signing Yudah Mugalu and Nigerian import Lucky Bemidele leading the line.

With no injury concerns for Alex Isabirye’s side, URA is expected to line up a formidable line up, just after securing a last gasp equalizer against BUL F.C in the opener of the second round last Friday.

Yassar Mugerwa, Robert Sentongo, Patrick Ochan, wingers Peter Lwasa and either James Kasibante or Elukana Nkugwa will be URA’s talismanic symbols.
