Uganda Premier League: Plenty of action for Week 8

For the first time this season, the Uganda Premier League (UPL) gets underway with all the 16 teams in action.

Football lovers across the country will be spoilt for choice on which ever match to action.

At Buikwe Stadium in Mukono, table leaders, Vipers F.C will host Jinja based side, Sadolin Paints.

A victory for Vipers will see them consolidate their grip at the summit of the table standings.

Meanwhile in Mityana, 16 time record winners, SC Villa will be praying Vipers slips as they win their own fixture in the Mityana derby against a win-less Rwenshama who have drawn just one and lost all of the 7 fixtures played thus far.

In the Eastern Uganda district of Jinja, Villai Baianomugisha, head coach at Lweza and the rest of his charges make the long trip to face the home boys, BUL football club dubbed as the ‘Eastern Giants’.

Lweza will be missing two key defenders in Julius Mutyaba and Ayub Kisaliita due to injuries while Bul F.C, coach Uganda Cranes assistant coach, Kefa Kisala is injury free but has been inconsistent as far as delivery of positive results is concerned.

At Namboole Stadium, Fred Kajoba’s tenure as coach at Bright Stars gets underway today with a visit to the Kira Young who are coached by the duo of Paul Nkata and Moses Basena.

Kajoba, who is also the national team goal keeping coach has been club less ever since parting ways with the army side, Simba F.C.

In the heart of Kampala City, defending Champions, Kampala City Council (KCC) will entertain Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

It will be one match where former KCC servants, Ceaser Sapeo (player) and Morley Byekwaso (player/coach) will be facing their former side.

Across town, at Wankulukuku Stadium, home team Express will be hosting Entebbe F.C while in the battle of the forces, Police hosts Simba at Kavumba Recreational Stadium.

The other fixture available today will see URA host another win-less team, Soana at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
