UGANDA PREMIER LEAGUE: Police back to the top

Police football club’s brilliant start to the 2014/15 Uganda Premier League (UPL) has maintained today with a 3 – 1 home victory over the league new entrants, Sadolin football club.

The match, which was played at Kavumba Recreational stadium in Wakiso saw 4 goals scored on the day.

Police’s captain, Siraje Ssevume led by example, scoring the host’s opening strike after just 10 minutes.

They however lost the lead to Sudi Kayemba’s well drilled equalizer, 0n 18 minutes.

Peter ‘Crouch’ Ssenyonjo and Osman Mutumba sealed their victory with 2 second half goals to lift the Uganda Police team back to the top of the table standings.

At Wankulukuku Stadium, Frank Kalanzi’s brace and a late -late goal from Julius Mutyaba helped Lweza, another new side to the Uganda Premier League to their second victory in a row over Entebbe.

The league resumes Wednesday, 8th October with two games on card.

Soana takes on Simba at Kavumba Recreational Stadium as Express hosts high riding Kawempe side, Bright Stars.
