Uganda Kobs 2 – 0 Rwanda U-23 (Second Leg, Second Round)
[Aggregate Score: Uganda 4-1 Rwanda]
Tens of hundreds turned up at Nakivubo War Memorial stadium on Saturday (30th May 2015) as the Uganda national U-23 team, christened The Kobs hosted Rwanda in the return leg of the second round of the CAF U-23 Championship qualifier.
www.fufa.co.ug brings you the memories of the match in a colourful pictorial perspective.
Uganda Kobs won 2-0 on the day to progress 4-1 following a 2-1 away victory in Kigali during the first leg.
John Ssemazi and team captain, Faruku Miya scored the goals for the home side, both strikes coming in the Second half.
Uganda hit the lower post as early as the 2nd minute of play before Ssemazi had a goal bound effort cleared off the line 4 minutes later.
Ssemazi opened the scoring in the 60th minute, a wonderful tap in almost on the goal line after being set up by CS Safien youthful forward, Yunus Sentamu.
Miya, scorer of a great curling free kick in the first leg gave the fans some debate and comparisons over the quality of goal he scored again in the return leg at Nakivubo.
The Vipers player chested a long high ball from right back, Deus Bukenya and executed a wonder volley that goal keeper, Marcel Nzarora could do little to save.
Uganda Kobs eject Rwanda 4-1 on aggregate from the CAF U-23 championship qualification campaign.
Uganda will play Egypt, first away between 17th -19th July 2015 in Cairo before the return leg on the weekend of 1st August 2015.
The winner on aggregate between Uganda and Egypt will book a place at the finals of the 2015 Africa U-23 championship to take place in Dakar between November and December 2015.
